Dad got his first cuddles today. And was he ever glad he waited a day. Lyds got about 45 minutes yesterday, I ended up having a bit over 2 hours with the little man.

 

The doctors have been weaning CPAP today with the hope of coming off tomorrow (he may not make it off the first time, many kids don’t).

 

We also had a couple of the drains removed from his chest and the cover removed. The stitching is impressive. The doctor opted for external stitches give how long the chest was open for, so it looks like a really really long set of laces running down his chest.
